The past 7 months were certainly challenging as we endeavored to write procedures, train out employees and implement our 9001 system, however, this task would have been impossible were it not for your supervision, your guideance and your sense of humour. Words alone cannot convey our true sense of appreciation. We wish you continued success in your ISO consulting business and we will heartily recommend your firm to anyone who approaches us seeking such services.-TP Composites

Safety Management System

WHAT IS OHSAS 18001:2007?

It is an Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) that promotes a safe and healthy working environment by providing a framework that allows your organization to consistently identify and control its health and safety risks, reduce the potential for accidents, aid legislative compliance and improve overall performance.

OHSAS18001:2007 is the internationally recognised ISO Standard for occupational health and safety management systems. It was developed by a selection of leading trade bodies, international standards and certification bodies to address a gap where no third-party certifiable international standard exists.

OHSAS 18001 has been designed to be compatible with ISO9001:2000 and ISO14001:2004, to help your organisation meet their health and safety obligations in an efficient manner.

The following key areas are addressed by OHSAS 18001:2007
•    Planning for hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control
•    OHSAS management programme
•    Structure and responsibility
•    Training, awareness and competence
•    Consultation and communication
•    Operational control
•    Emergency preparedness and response
•    Performance measuring, monitoring and improvement

ISO18001:2007 can be adopted by any organisation wishing to implement a formal procedure to reduce the risks associated with health and safety in the working environment for employees, customers and the general public.
